FROM INTEREST TO INVESTMENT: A REGIONAL SNAPSHOT
Our research reveals that close to half the digital population in both markets either owns or is interested in owning cryptocurrency.
The main motivations for investing include financial gain and the diversification of investments, while 97% of respondents believe that blockchain technology will significantly impact industries beyond finance.
The infographic also highlights several significant barriers to crypto adoption including regulatory issues, security concerns, and a general lack of understanding. Technical (setup) difficulties is seen as a major barrier by 34% of respondents.
Furthermore, 95% of users feel they could benefit from more information, as many are only somewhat or poorly informed. This lack of deep knowledge is apparent as 61% of the interested observers watch and learn but remain inactive during significant crypto events. Popular channels for obtaining crypto information include social media and crypto-specific websites and forums. By leveraging a targeted multi-channel engagement strategy, there is a significant opportunity to transform this latent interest into active investment.
